What to Expect

While Dr. Chris Cusimano and his staff will be doing everything possible to give you the highest-quality care available, the success of your orthodontic treatment will also depend on you. Active patient participation is always essential for orthodontic treatment success, and we expect that you will be compliant and achieve a successful result.

Initial Examination

At your first visit, Dr. Chris will provide a complete clinical diagnosis regarding the nature of the problem, a written summary of the findings and a detailed plan that outlines your orthodontic treatment, goals, and estimated fees. He encourages you to ask any questions you may have as the more you know about and actively participate in your orthodontic care, the better your results will be.

Orthodontic Records

Once you are ready to begin orthodontic treatment, Dr. Chris will acquire the initial diagnostic records. This information will be used to create a custom orthodontic treatment plan and track the progress of your orthodontic care. Diagnostic records include digital impressions, photographs, and radiographs, and they are necessary for developing your proper orthodontic treatment plan.

Digital Impressions (SCANS)

Impressions are used to obtain accurate models of your teeth, dental arches and bite registration. These impressions are needed to measure your teeth, analyze your bite and plan orthodontic treatment. Impressions are an essential part of providing quality orthodontic care and monitoring the progress of orthodontic treatment.

Photographs and Radiographs

To accurately determine where to move teeth within the upper and lower jaws, a series of digital photographs and radiographs will be taken. The images will be used throughout your active orthodontic treatment, as well as during the retention phase.

How Much Does Treatment Cost?

The cost of your orthodontic treatment varies depending on the severity of your treatment. Our Treatment Coordinator will review the cost of your treatment, your insurance benefits, and your payment options during your Initial Examination. We will do our best to make your Orthodontic Treatment fit into your budget.

What Does My Investment Include?

• Orthodontic Records

• Active Treatment presented at the Initial Examination (appliances, appointments, and procedures performed during appointments)

• One set of retainers provided upon completion of Full Orthodontic Treatment

What Doesn’t My Investment Include?

• Dental work not performed in our office

• Treatment performed due to an accident or injury

• Laser Treatment not discussed at the Initial Examination

• Late fees (for late payments), No Show fees (for missed appointments), Excessive Breakage fees, Replacement appliances due to lost or broken appliances
